The collaboration hopes to deliver up to 1GW of AI infrastructure by 2030, with the Saudi Arabia deployment expected to help power the global AI ecosystem with cost-efficient, high-performance infrastructure.
All three companies will serve as founding investors in the joint venture and is expected to commence operations in 2026. There are also plans to combine HUMAIN’s data centres with AMD and Cisco technology to deliver modern data centre capacity with efficient power and lower capital expenditures.
AMD and Cisco will contribute their portfolio of products and services to its development.
“Delivering high-performance global AI infrastructure at scale requires strong partnerships. Together with HUMAIN and Cisco, we’re combining leadership compute and networking technologies to expand the capacity and global competitiveness of the Kingdom’s AI ecosystem,” said Dr. Lisa Su, chair and CEO of AMD.
“As part of this deepening collaboration, we’re also establishing an AMD Center of Excellence in Saudi Arabia to further accelerate local integration and innovation.”
The companies have announced the first phase of the project as a buildout of 100MW AI infrastructure, intending to include HUMAIN modern data centre capacity, AMD Instinct MI450 Series GPUs and Cisco’s industry-leading critical infrastructure.
Earlier in the year, Cisco and AMD formed an initiative with HUMAIN to build the world’s most open, scalable, resilient and cost-efficient AI infrastructure. This latest venture builds on their partnership and aims to provide more cost-effective infrastructure to power the AI use cases of its customers.
Chuck Robbins, chair and CEO of Cisco shared: “Our expanded partnership with HUMAIN, together with AMD, will mark a pivotal moment in accelerating Saudi Arabia’s AI infrastructure.
“By providing secure, scalable, critical infrastructure for HUMAIN’s up to 1 GW buildout, Cisco will help the Kingdom turn its vision for a digitally advanced, AI-powered economy into a reality.”
Across the data centre industry, there is an ambition to create an AI-driven economy – as demand increases, so does the need for more efficient and cost-effective power solutions.
According to Cisco’s latest AI Readiness Index, while 91% of organisations in Saudi Arabia plan to deploy AI agents, only 29% currently have robust GPU capacity.
This need for more advanced data centre infrastructure is something that AMD, Cisco and HUMAIN are working to build. The companies said this collaboration is not only expected to deliver the compute capacity required for AI at scale but also strengthens the foundations of Saudi Arabia’s digital economy.
“Our partnership with AMD and Cisco brings world-class technology and expertise to our mission,” said Tareq Amin, CEO of HUMAIN. “Together, we are pushing the frontier of AI compute, bringing up to 1GW of high-performance, cost-efficient infrastructure online in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to empower innovators both in the Kingdom and around the world.”
