The new site, LEV002, will be located adjacent to the company’s existing LEV001 facility and deliver 4.4MW of capacity alongside approximately 3,400 square metres of technical space. Construction began in February 2026, with the facility expected to be operational in Q2 2027.
The expansion follows strong customer demand at LEV001, which is nearing full capacity, highlighting the need for additional infrastructure in one of Germany’s key economic hubs. The development forms part of AtlasEdge’s broader strategy to scale its presence in high-growth European markets.
Georg Raiser, managing director, DACH at AtlasEdge, said: “With the development of this new data centre, we are advancing our long-term growth strategy in Germany. Expanding our footprint in Leverkusen strengthens our ability to support customers across one of Germany’s leading economic regions.”
LEV002 is designed to support AI-ready and high-density workloads, reflecting evolving enterprise requirements for scalable and resilient infrastructure. The facility will run on 100% renewable energy and comply with Germany’s Energy Efficiency Act (EnEfG), alongside planned certifications including EN 50600, ISO 27001 and ISO 9001.
The project underlines continued investment in regional data centre capacity as operators respond to rising demand driven by cloud, AI and enterprise digital transformation.
