Avelacom launches sub-127ms Amsterdam–Tokyo route to boost ultra-low latency trading connectivity

Avelacom has introduced a new hybrid fibre and microwave route between Amsterdam and Tokyo, delivering sub-127 millisecond round-trip latency and setting a new benchmark for Europe–Asia connectivity.

The route strengthens Avelacom’s portfolio of proprietary ultra-low latency infrastructure, extending its existing network linking key European hubs, including London and Frankfurt, with major Asian markets such as Tokyo, Shanghai and Hong Kong.

It is designed to support latency-sensitive digital asset trading, where network performance directly affects execution quality and profitability.

Amsterdam is emerging as a strategic connectivity hub for digital asset markets, offering access to trading venues such as BtcTurk, while its links to Tokyo provide proximity to global price discovery across leading liquidity centres, including Binance.

The city is also developing as a centre for on-chain infrastructure, with a growing concentration of validator nodes supporting decentralised networks. This convergence is driving demand for faster, more efficient routes between Europe and Asia.

The new Amsterdam–Tokyo route builds on Avelacom’s existing Points of Presence and expands its microwave network footprint. By integrating additional microwave segments into its hybrid architecture, the company has optimised latency performance across one of the industry’s longest and most competitive paths.

Aleksey Larichev, CEO of Avelacom, said the development reflects evolving market requirements. He added that Amsterdam’s growing role in digital assets, combined with increasing institutional demand, makes ultra-low latency connectivity a critical component of trading infrastructure with a direct impact on P&L.
