Blue Wireless, part of the Wireless Logic Group, has spent the past decade helping global enterprises stay connected wherever they operate. From retail to maritime, and from industrial to enterprise networks, the company focuses on making complex connectivity simple, reliable, and scalable, empowering organisations to stay agile and connected anywhere in the world.
Now, with the launch of Global Wireless Ethernet (GWE), Blue Wireless is once again pushing the boundaries of wireless innovation, extending the power of Ethernet beyond cables to deliver true global flexibility and control.
Built for today’s dynamic enterprise, GWE combines the speed and reliability of wired Ethernet with the agility and global reach of wireless. It’s a true Layer 2 Ethernet-over-IP solution that connects sites seamlessly using LTE and 5G as the last mile, available in more than 80 countries.
“Offering Layer 2 wireless Ethernet connectivity is a game changer for our customers,” said Joop Gerlach, Chief Technology Officer at Blue Wireless. “It gives them the freedom to route their traffic wherever they choose, across global backbones, to private or public clouds, or directly to the internet.”
How it works
At its core, GWE uses Ethernet over IP (EoIP) tunnelling to securely transport Ethernet frames over a cellular IP network. This creates a virtual Layer 2 connection between customer sites, allowing them to maintain protocol transparency, IP addressing, and routing control, just as they would in a wired LAN.
Customers connect their own Point of Presence (POP) to one of Blue Wireless’s strategically located regional POPs via a secure interconnect. From there, GWE extends point-to-point connectivity over LTE/5G to branch offices, factories, retail stores, or even mobile sites, delivering consistent, LAN-like performance across all locations.
By combining this architecture with Blue Wireless’s global footprint and managed service expertise, enterprises can deploy Ethernet-grade wireless networks faster, simpler, and with greater control than ever before.
The benefits of GWE
Wireless Ethernet delivers all the technical advantages of traditional Ethernet, with added mobility, speed of deployment, and flexibility.
- True Layer 2 Transparency: Maintain consistent VLANs, multicast, and MAC-level control across your network.
- Network Independence: Operates across multiple LTE/5G carriers to ensure the strongest, most reliable connection at each site.
- Full Network Control: Define your own IP addressing, routing policies, and segmentation strategies.
- Global Reach: With Points of Presence across Asia Pacific, Europe, and the Americas, traffic from 80+ countries can be managed through a single provider.
- Enterprise-Grade Support: Includes onsite installation, 24/7 monitoring, SLAs, and unified billing under one global contract.
Key Use Cases for Wireless Ethernet
Last Mile Connection
Bridge the gap between your core network and remote sites using high-performance 5G/LTE. GWE eliminates the need for costly fibre installations, enabling rapid deployment, flexible bandwidth, and seamless integration into existing Layer 2 networks.
Network Freedom
Take charge of your network architecture with complete control over IP addressing, routing, and traffic management, without limitations from upstream providers.
Layer 2 for Remote Sites
Extend your enterprise LAN to far-reaching and mobile locations. GWE ensures transparent VLAN transport and consistent security, keeping your network unified and resilient.
Wired Ethernet Backup
Add wireless redundancy to existing Layer 2 Ethernet connections. In the event of an outage, GWE provides instant failover, maintaining transparency and business continuity for mission-critical operations.
Building the future of global connectivity
With Global Wireless Ethernet, Blue Wireless isn’t just introducing another service, it’s reimagining what enterprise networking can be in a wireless-first world.
By combining carrier-grade LTE/5G performance, transparent Ethernet integration, and true global reach, Blue Wireless is giving enterprises and service providers the freedom to build their networks their way, without boundaries, delays, or compromises.
It’s Ethernet, unchained.
