Dr Ong, who joined the alliance in March 2018, will retire from the corporate sector to pursue personal interests. During her tenure, Bridge Alliance evolved into a regional product house, expanding beyond its traditional roaming roots to support member operators with new digital capabilities.
These included cross-border Internet of Things (IoT) services, Communications Platform-as-a-Service (CPaaS) offerings and telco application programming interfaces (APIs). Under her leadership, the alliance also strengthened its global footprint, welcoming Deutsche Telekom and du as new members.
Mr Loo currently serves as SVP of roaming and products and has been with Bridge Alliance since April 2020. He has played a key role in building new business lines, working closely with Dr Ong to establish the alliance’s regional CPaaS platform and the Bridge Alliance API Exchange (BAEx). He brings more than 30 years of experience across the telecommunications industry in Asia.
Commenting on the transition, Bridge Alliance chairman Bill Chang thanked Dr Ong for her contributions over the past eight years and said the board was confident in Mr Loo’s ability to lead the organisation as the industry accelerates towards digitalisation and AI.
Mr Loo said he looked forward to building on Bridge Alliance’s foundations of innovation, regional collaboration and collective growth.
