Colt DCS names Fumi Takei as new VP and head of Japan to drive growth across its 134MW portfolio, supporting AI and cloud expansion.

Colt Data Centre Services (Colt DCS) has appointed Fumi Takei as vice president and head of Japan to lead its strategic growth across the country.

Takei’s main goal will be to strengthen the operator’s presence in one of its most important global markets, while also driving alignment across its global functions. She will also lead engagement with customers, partners, regulators and industry stakeholders across Japan’s digital infrastructure ecosystem.

Colt DCS currently operates 134 megawatts (MW) of IT capacity in Japan with a further 200MW in development.

“We are delighted to welcome Fumi as Vice President and Head of Japan at a pivotal time for Colt DCS,” said Quy Nguyen, acting CEO and chief sales officer. “Japan plays a critical role in our global platform, particularly as we continue to invest in facilities that support AI infrastructure.”

Takei brings to her new role nearly twenty years of experience working across real estate investment, infrastructure and capital markets. Her career spans global investment firms and digital infrastructure platforms, including a previous role as head of acquisitions at AirTrunk.

Her depth of expertise has seen her work across numerous international organisations. The plan is for her to leverage this experience to support Colt DCS as it seeks to expand further across Japan.

Japan is very strategically important as a market for Colt DCS and the vice president and head of Japan role within the company is critical to ensuring the successful local execution of its overall global strategy.

Nguyen added: “This position will be key to advancing our strategy and accelerating the growth of our data centre portfolio across the country.”

The company operates a strong portfolio of hyperscale and large enterprise data centres across the country, tailored for cloud providers, AI and financial institutions.
