Druid Software acquires Node-H to bolster private network engineering capacity

The deal brings a group of software engineers with private cellular network expertise into Druid, adding RAN-related capabilities to a portfolio that has focused primarily on core network software. Druid said the move would allow closer integration with existing RAN partners while it continues to concentrate on core network and private network solutions.

The acquisition comes as Druid reports strong demand for private 4G and 5G networks across enterprise, industrial, public safety and mission-critical sectors. The company said the additional engineering capacity would support current customer and partner commitments as well as development of more advanced private network deployments.

Node-H’s IP will feed into Druid’s unified management platform, which the company positions as simplifying deployment, operation and lifecycle management of private networks across multi-vendor environments. Druid also said selected Node-H software assets could be licensed to other companies in the O-RAN and RAN ecosystem, opening a potential new revenue stream.

“Bringing the Node-H team into Druid gives us additional, extremely valuable experience and software engineering talent, with deep knowledge of private cellular networks,” said Liam Kenny, CEO of Druid Software.

Mike Cronin, CEO of Node-H, said Druid’s position in private networks made it a strong home for the Node-H team and technology.

Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
