In a LinkedIn post, Dowidar said: “With 2025 marking a record year for e&, I have decided to conclude my six-year tenure as group CEO.
His final day in the role will be 31 March 2026, the company said in a statement.
Meanwhile,the board has named Masood M. Sharif Mahmood, current CEO of e& UAE, as group CEO, effective 1 April 2026, who will take on the dual responsibilities of group CEO and CEO of e& UAE, a position he held since August 2021.
Mahmood, who currently heads the group’s UAE operations, will assume leadership as e& scales its international portfolio and strengthens its presence in high-growth markets.
Prior to joining e& UAE, Mahmood held the position of CEO of Yahsat, a role he held for over 8 years.
Dowidar confirmed he will remain fully involved during the transition. “While this news is a big change, it’s all hands on deck for the next five weeks as we ensure a smooth handover,” he wrote.
