The partnership is designed to enhance global digital money movement and reshape how money can move around worldwide.
By integrating Ericsson Fintech Platform and Mastercard Move, both companies said the collaboration stands to empower telecom service providers, banks and fintechs to expand digital wallet capabilities, launch new payment services and reach unbanked or underbanked communities.
Ericsson said its pre-integrated application programming interfaces (APIs), cloud-native deployment and compliance-ready infrastructure will stand to simplify fintech connectivity to Mastercard Move.
“Joining forces with Mastercard marks a bold step toward the future of money movement. Combining Ericsson’s trusted, scalable platform with Mastercard Move enables our customers to launch secure and efficient payment solutions faster than we ever have before,” said Pavan Bachwal, head of mobile financial services at Ericsson.
“Together, we are driving financial inclusion, accelerating innovation and creating new growth opportunities across the globe.”
The new capabilities are also designed to reduce technology complexity and lower operational barriers, while also accelerating time-to-market for new payment services. This is all aimed at championing innovation and growth across the sector.
Both companies said the goal is to create new revenue streams and strengthen digital ecosystems across emerging and developed markets. Currently, Ericsson’s fintech platform operates in 22 countries and serves more than 120 million active users. It processes more than four billion transactions every month across digital wallets, payments, remittances, lending and loyalty services.
Financial inclusion and accessibility are another priority for this collaboration. By integrating into Ericsson’s Fintech Platform, Mastercard Move is aiming to accelerate digital payment adoption – with the rollout starting in the Middle East and Africa, where demand for mobile money remittances and interoperable payments services are particularly strong at the moment.
“Mastercard Move empowers payment service providers to shape the future of money movement – delivering fast, secure and transparent transfers for individuals and businesses worldwide,” said Pratik Khowala, global head of transfer solutions at Mastercard. “By integrating with Ericsson’s fintech platform, we’re opening new pathways for telecom operators, financial institutions and fintechs to scale innovative payment services, reach underserved communities and unlock fresh revenue streams.”
He added: “This collaboration not only meets the rising demand for digital cross-border payments, but also accelerates progress toward a more connected, inclusive and dynamic global digital economy.”
