Both executives are promoted internally, with Hoffmann stepping up from SVP Technology & IT and Dirksen from SVP Nordic Customer Delivery & Operations. The changes, effective May 1, reflect a broader effort to simplify the company’s structure and sharpen operational accountability.
Hoffmann will lead a newly combined Technology, IT & Security unit, bringing together key capabilities to support priorities including network transformation, AI adoption and security. Dirksen will head a new Infrastructure Delivery & Operations unit, consolidating responsibility for network build and underlay delivery into a single function.
The restructuring also sees overlay capabilities moved into the B2B division, giving it end-to-end ownership of customer solutions and delivery. The shift is designed to strengthen GlobalConnect’s ability to develop and deliver integrated connectivity services for enterprise customers.
CEO Martin Lippert said the changes are intended to align leadership more closely with the company’s strategic priorities. “As we scale the business and accelerate key priorities, including the growing role of AI, we are bringing related activities together under clearer ownership to strengthen execution and accountability,” he said.
The appointments come as GlobalConnect continues its transformation towards a more software-driven infrastructure model. Hoffmann’s background includes leadership roles at Juniper Networks, Oracle and Acme Packet, while Dirksen brings experience from TDC NET and McKinsey & Company.
As part of the changes, NetCo will be split across the new units, with EVP Per Morten Torvildsen stepping down and returning to the board.
