The company has named Ed North as chief commercial officer, Mohammed Ahmed as chief financial officer and Mike Ghent as chief operating officer. The hires come as G.Network focuses on commercialising its fibre infrastructure under the ownership of FitzWalter Capital, having emerged debt-free earlier this year.
The leadership changes follow the return of co-founder David Sangster as CEO, bringing more than 20 years of telecoms experience across companies including Cable & Wireless and Airwave. The operator has also relocated to a new headquarters in Elephant and Castle, aligning its operational base with its growth ambitions.
Sangster said the appointments are intended to support the company’s plans to scale its network and strengthen its position in London’s competitive broadband market. He indicated that the combined commercial, financial and operational expertise of the new executives will be key to accelerating growth and delivering improved connectivity across the capital.
North rejoins G.Network, having previously served as sales director, and brings experience across residential, SME and enterprise segments. His background includes senior roles at Hyperoptic, XLN Telecom and Vodafone, with a focus on sales strategy, go-to-market execution and customer retention in high-growth environments.
Ahmed joins with a track record in finance leadership across telecoms and infrastructure businesses, including roles at BT, National Grid, Merlin Entertainments, Hargreaves Lansdown and ICE Telecommunications. His experience centres on transformation and commercial finance within both listed and private equity-backed organisations.
Ghent brings more than 25 years of operational experience spanning fibre, mobile and satellite networks. Most recently COO at Spring Fibre, he previously held senior roles at UK Broadband and Three UK, where he led delivery of the company’s 5G launch and oversaw network infrastructure programmes.
Together, the appointments position G.Network to advance its commercial strategy and expand fibre connectivity across London.
