The company confirmed it is now debt-free and supported by fresh capital, as it looks to accelerate commercial activity across its network footprint in central London. As part of the transition, co-founder David Sangster has been reappointed as chief executive officer.
G.Network’s infrastructure currently passes more than 420,000 premises across central London, targeting one of the most commercially competitive fibre markets globally. The operator has focused on building its network closer to end users, aiming to deliver faster provisioning and improved service responsiveness for residential and business customers, as well as landlords, managed service providers and partners.
Sangster, who brings more than 20 years of experience in the UK telecoms sector, previously held senior roles at Cable & Wireless and Airwave. His return signals a renewed focus on scaling the business and capitalising on existing network assets.
David Sangster said: “G.Network has always had an outstanding network at its core, and a dedicated team, many of whom have contributed to the creation of the business. G.Network continued to grow during its short period of administration, and now that period is over, we can build on those foundations. We are looking forward to bringing our unrivalled asset and outstanding service to our partners and customers in London.”
Backed by FitzWalter Capital, the company is expected to prioritise network utilisation and revenue growth, as competition intensifies in the UK fibre market.
Andrew Gray, Partner at FitzWalter Capital, said: “G.Network enters this next chapter debt-free and well capitalised, with a team that has delivered strong operational performance. We look forward to partnering with David and the entire G.Network team to accelerate the commercialisation of the network and establish G.Network as a leading challenger in UK fibre.”
