Doug Guthrie brings to IQ Fiber nearly four decades of experience of working across the telecommunications industry.

He will be responsible for overseeing the company’s network deployment, operational performance and customer service as IQ Fiber looks to further accelerate its network expansion.

IQ Fiber serves the Southeast and the Mid-Atlantic and, as a 100% fibre optic internet service provider, the company is looking to grow its business. To support this, Guthrie will report to company CEO Ted Schremp to accelerate expansion in the regions it operates.

“Doug’s experience leading large-scale operations make him a strong addition to our leadership team as we continue our rapid growth across the Southeast and the Mid-Atlantic,” said Ted Schremp, CEO of IQ Fiber.

Over the course of his career, Guthrie has held senior leadership roles across operations, sales and marketing at leading broadband companies – including Cable One, Astound and Comcast. Most recently, he served as vice president of systems operations at Cable One, leading regional technical operations across six regions in 24 states and supporting nearly one million residential and commercial customers.

His responsibilities have often included technical fulfilment, network maintenance, fleet operations, safety and dispatch, in addition to supporting customer growth initiatives. He has also been committed to strengthening community and government relationships and identifying opportunities for future expansion.

This may be welcome expertise for IQ Fiber, which aims to deliver the fastest upload and download speeds available, 99.99% reliability and consistent wall-to-wall WiFi coverage. The company’s unique selling point is that, unlike traditional providers, it combines next generation technology with in-house experts who monitor every customer connection.

The company has also been committed to bolstering regional internet connections, having most recently launched 100% fibre optic internet service in Charleston, South Carolina.

Speaking at the time, Schremp added: “At IQ Fiber, everything we do is centred on creating the best possible experience for our customers. That means making internet service easy to understand, simple to manage and reliable every day.

“From transparent pricing to local customer support, our goal is to deliver fast internet without the hassles customers have come to expect from traditional providers.”
