Now commercially available, LiquidStack first announced the GigaModular in June 2025 and now says it’s able to offer flexible capacity, operational resilience and modularity.

The platform has a modular, pay-as-you-go architecture that is designed to meet Nvidia Vera Rubin specifications to enable AI data centre operators to deploy liquid cooling infrastructure with greater speed, flexibility and operational simplicity.

“GigaModular helps operators expand cooling capacity without requiring significant infrastructure redesigns or over-provisioning upfront,” said Joe Capes, VP at Trane Technologies and general manager of LiquidStack.

“Its flexible deployment and distribution architecture enables phased buildouts aligned to AI compute demand, while centralised system-level controls help simplify operations, improve efficiency and optimise capital planning.”

LiquidStack said the GigaModular CDU platform is designed to support the demands of both merchant silicon and hyperscale customer silicon heat profiles across application temperature ranges, giving operators greater flexibility as compute and thermal requirements evolve.

It also offers centralised control to simplify operations, reduce redundancy and improve infrastructure efficiency at scale, in addition to system-level scalability to support coordinated AI infrastructure expansion rather than aggregated independent CDU capacity. It is also future-ready to support next-generation GPU platforms in high-density environments and gigawatt-scale deployments.

Integrated with Trane Technologies’ broader thermal management offering, GigaModular combines advanced CDU technology with global service support across deployment and the full equipment lifecycle.

LiquidStack said the CDU has now completed extensive multi-module system integration and full-load testing and can validate the performance of deployments up to 14MW. The company will showcase GigaModular at Datacloud Global Congress, June 2–4 at the Palais des Festivals in Cannes, France, including live VR demonstrations of the platform.

LiquidStack is powering up its ability to support AI-ready data centre operations. The company also announced a partnership with INNOVO and Castrol ON  at Capacity Middle East to bring the UAE its first modular, AI-ready, liquid-cooled data centre.

The company was acquired by Trane Technologies in February 2026.
