The Medusa Submarine Cable System has signed an agreement with Syria Telecom to establish a landing point for its submarine cable in Tartous.

The new landing in Tartous will serve as a low-latency gateway between Europe, the Middle East, and Asia, enabling faster and more secure data exchange.

Additionally, the move is expected to boost regional connectivity and support the demand for digital capacity for the east-to-west network route.

The agreement was signed over the weekend by Norman Albi, CEO of Medusa and Jamal Al-Din Al-Khatib, chairman of the steering committee at Syria Telecom, under the presence of the Syrian Ministry of Communications and Technology, represented by Adbul-Salam Haykal.

Medusa Submarine Cable CEO, Norman Albi, told Capacity: “The agreement with Syria Telecom marks a significant step forward in Medusa’s mission to enhance intercontinental connectivity.

“Establishing a landing in Tartous reinforces our commitment to building a robust east-to-west route that supports the growing digital demands of the future. This milestone highlights the importance of collaboration in creating a more resilient and inclusive global network.”
