Pulsant has completed its £2 million (US$2.68 million) investment programme across its nationwide network of sites, the company has said.
The UK data centre and digital infrastructure platform has delivered nationwide upgrades to improve on-site experience and modernise its facilities. Having been delivered for the last two years, Pulsant said the roll-out has focused on improving the day-to-day on-site experience for clients, visitors and employees.
Refurbishments have been completed across UK Pulsant sites in Croydon, Edinburgh, Maidenhead, Manchester, Milton Keynes, Newcastle, Reading and Rotherham.
“Data centres are often designed primarily around the infrastructure, rather than the people who work in them every day,” said Ben Cranham, COO at Pulsant. “From the outset, our goal has been to create spaces where everyone – clients, partners, visitors and our team – feels welcome, supported and happy to be there. We’ve listened to the people who spend time in our data centres to shape environments that reflect how they work, now and in the future.”
He added: “By paying close attention to details, we’re delivering spaces that not only enhance wellbeing and productivity but also help us stand apart in the market.”
The investment is designed to strengthen Pulsant’s offering to data-driven organisations which are looking to scale and grow. Having worked closely with clients seeking to understand how Pulsant data centres are used in practice, it was highlighted that more welcoming, effective, and collaborative spaces were needed to help IT teams and technicians work more productively on-site.
More than 500 UK businesses currently use Pulsant’s colocation services, keeping their own services and IT infrastructure in its secure and interconnected facilities. Main features of the investment programme include new zonal layouts to improve efficiency, enhanced on-site amenities to boost productivity, more modern meeting rooms, improved security processes, and EV charging points.
Upgraded build rooms have also been introduced, which include dedicated build bays with tools, test Power Distribution Units (PDUs) and equipment to increase on-site productivity as equipment can be configured away from the data hall and then installed.
The updates come as Pulsant leans heavily into data centre demand across the UK, having recently invested £10 million ($13.42 million) into a new high-density data hall in Milton Keynes to support AI and advanced computing.
To further meet demands for high-performance, sovereign infrastructure, Pulsant continues to roll out its high-density model to other key regions, as part of its national platformEDGE capabilities.
