Under the terms of the collaboration, TCS will set up a dedicated business unit focused on delivering strong customer value propositions, joint industry solutions and deep AI expertise on Anthropic’s Claude family of AI models through early access. TCS is expected to empower 50,000 associates with Claude, as powered by Anthropic, to transform enterprise functions, co-innovate industry solutions and build future-ready AI talent.

Both companies will also jointly go to market with AI solutions for highly regulated sectors.

“We built Claude to be safe, trusted, and helpful, particularly in contexts where accuracy matters most,” said Dario Amodei, co-founder and CEO at Anthropic. “This partnership deepens our commitment to India, our second-largest market, with TCS bringing Claude to enterprises and professionals across the region and globally, including 50,000 of its employees.”

As a Global Premier Partner in the Claude Partner Network, TCS said it’s bringing Claude AI models to enterprises that are eager for greater accuracy, deep integration, resilience and strong governance. It added that combining scaled internal deployment, joint go-to-market offerings and co-innovation will offer clients a practical path to enterprise-wide adoption of AI.

TCS is expected to equip 50,000 associates across engineering, finance, legal, marketing and sales with Claude through enterprise-wide licensing. Deploying Claude internally will offer TCS first-hand experience to transform its own operations while applying those insights to drive client success, it said.

Alongside Anthropic, TCS is expected to jointly go to market with AI solutions and services across industries, including financial services, public services, life sciences, telecom and medtech, among others.

“This partnership reflects our shared conviction that AI will be foundational and transformative for enterprises worldwide,” said N Chandrasekaran, chairman at Tata Sons. “By combining Anthropic’s capabilities with Tata Group’s scale, trusted relationships, and nation-building commitment, we will accelerate enterprise reinvention and equip India’s youth with the skills to lead in the AI era.”

The partnership comes as regulated industries often see AI initiatives stall at the pilot stage. This is obviously a significant challenge, given the need for accuracy and oversight it more important in these sectors. TCS and Anthropic have said their partnership aims to overcome these barriers, with TCS’ governance, controls and implementation expertise set to enable Claude to be deployed confidently at the production stage.

“Enterprise AI value comes from understanding business context, orchestrating complex systems, and applying deep AI engineering talent. By combining Claude with our industry expertise, engineering rigour, and large-scale transformation capabilities, we will help customers move faster to production, especially in industries where trust, resilience and regulatory discipline are critical,” added K Krithivasan, CEO and MD at TCS.

“This partnership reflects TCS’ broader strategy to help clients become perpetually adaptive enterprises by turning frontier AI into transformation at enterprise scale.”

The news also comes after Anthropic announced the release of Claude Fable, a version of its much-publicised Mythos AI model, shortly after warning how dangerous the technology could be in the wrong hands.

Anthropic explained that the AI has been released with very heavy user restrictions.
