Set for completion in 2028, Telehouse’s new data centre will be purpose-built to support the rapid adoption of emerging technologies like AI.

The new facility will also integrate both air and liquid cooling technologies, Telehouse said, to meet growing demand for high density compute environments. This also plans to enable customers to scale without compromise.

Telehouse West Two will also offer two meet-me rooms and four dedicated secure connectivity risers.

“The new Telehouse West Two site marks another important step in our ongoing mission to deliver world-class, sustainable digital infrastructure,” said Kenkichi Honda, managing director at Telehouse Europe.

“This expansion will empower digital transformation for enterprise clients across multiple sectors, enabling them to benefit from emerging technologies which are shaping the future world, while supporting the uncompromising need for energy efficiency and carbon neutrality.”

As one of the most connected data centre campuses in Europe, Telehouse is able to offer leading services. Telehouse West Two has been designed with sustainability, resiliency and security at its core and offer a 99.999% uptime guarantee to prevent operation interruptions.

Some specifications of Telehouse West Two:

  • Nine-storey building will cover a total gross area of 32,000m²
  • Switchgear, UPS systems, chilled water cooling, floor-by-floor ventilation plant will be incorporated
  • Powered by two new 132kV substations
  • Each floor capable of delivering up to 4.4MW of power capacity
  • Industry-leading physical security and advanced threat detection, including 24/7 surveillance and on-site security personnel

Telehouse also said the data centre has been designed to BREEAM Excellent standards, with 100% renewable energy being used to power its operations. It also plans to deliver high efficiency with low WUE and PUE, in addition to supporting the company’s sustainability goals of heat recovery and HVO-fuelled backup generators.

Flynn Management & Contracting Ltd, an international construction and fit-out company, will work with Jones Engineering Group, specialists in mechanical, electrical and fire protection, to deliver the project.

This new data centre marks a pivotal moment for Telehouse as it seeks to expand its presence in London, where it has been operating for more than 35 years. Telehouse West Two hopes to strengthen this strategy and help the company meet rising demand for advanced digital infrastructure, supporting businesses to digitally transform.
