Telecom number governance platform Telesmart has named Carl Roberts as chairman of its board as the company pushes ahead with global expansion and platform growth.

Roberts brings more than 30 years of international wholesale experience to the role, having previously served as group vice president at Verizon Business and, most recently, as chief commercial officer at Epsilon.

He joins to provide strategic oversight and support Telesmart’s go-to-market expansion across Tier 1 carriers, digital service providers and CPaaS providers worldwide.

Roberts said demand for programmable communications was growing rapidly but that number operations remained “fragmented and operationally complex,” adding that Telesmart gave customers “a single place to govern and control their number estate, making it easier to scale services, meet compliance requirements and unlock value from those assets.”

Telesmart operates as a system of record for telecom numbers and communication identifiers, centralising governance across number inventory, lifecycle, routing and compliance. The platform automates provisioning and validates numbers before execution, enabling carriers and service providers to manage number operations consistently across multiple markets and suppliers.

Neil Kitcher, CEO and founder of Telesmart, said Roberts understood “both the operational reality of telecom and the direction the industry is heading,” and that his appointment strengthened the company’s strategic direction “as we scale the platform, support our customers and accelerate growth in key markets.”
