Vodafone Procure & Connect has opened its pan-European logistics hub in Bettembourg, Luxembourg.

In a bid to strengthen its supply chain and support its network deployment and maintenance across Europe, the hub will store and distribute telecoms equipment, including mobile, fibre and fixed network infrastructure.

Located in Bettembourg’s logistics park, the telecoms giant can reach all European markets within 24 hours, ensuring timely equipment availability for network upgrades and new projects.

The opening ceremony was attended by H.R.H. the Grand Duke of Luxembourg, Lex Delles, Minister for the Economy, SMEs, Energy and Tourism, Jean-Marie Jans, Mayor of Bettembourg, Jean-François van Boxmeer, chair of Vodafone and Ninian Wilson, CEO of Vodafone Procure & Connect, alongside Vodafone Group leaders and global technology partners.

Delles said: “Vodafone’s decision to establish its pan-European logistics hub in Luxembourg shows once again that the country plays a significant role within the European value chain.

“This investment demonstrates the robustness of Luxembourg’s logistics ecosystem and its strategic location at the heart of Europe, as well as the country’s capacity to host international groups managing complex operations across the continent. This step will thereby support the company’s business development projects and long-term growth in the country.”

Wilson added:  “The opening of this new logistics hub marks a significant step in the continued evolution of Vodafone’s supply chain operations.

“Operating from the heart of Europe in Luxembourg strengthens our supply chain resilience, improves efficiency and effectiveness, and creates a capability that can support the wider telecommunications ecosystem.”
