Zayo Europe has established the new PoPs within Equinix WA1 and Atman WAW-2, two of Warsaw’s most prominent data centre facilities, with both sites connected to Berlin and Frankfurt, linking the Polish capital directly into Zayo Europe’s pan-European backbone.
The expansion brings 400GE-enabled Tier-1 IP Transit, Dedicated Internet Access and CloudLink services into the city’s most connected data centre ecosystems, giving local ISPs, content providers and enterprises improved geographic diversity and access to advanced DDoS mitigation.
The move reflects Poland’s position as one of the EU’s fastest-growing economies, with rising domestic demand and increasing cloud and AI investment placing Warsaw at the centre of Central and Eastern Europe’s evolving connectivity landscape.
Colman Deegan, chief executive of Zayo Europe, said the expansion was a direct response to that shift: “Warsaw is rapidly establishing itself as a primary pillar and a crossroad of the continent’s digital corridors. By establishing this foothold, we’re providing resilient network connectivity that allows our customers to navigate Eastern Europe’s innovation economy without hitting the legacy bottlenecks of the past.
“We’re creating a strategic foothold that enables an alternative interconnection point for meeting operators from the Baltics, the Nordics, and the rest of Europe.”
Sławomir Koszołko, chief executive of Atman, said bringing Zayo Europe’s network into the WAW-2 campus would reduce friction for companies scaling across the continent, while Sylwia Pyśkiewicz, managing director of Equinix Poland, said the addition of Zayo Europe’s backbone effectively shortens the distance between Warsaw and major global digital markets, supporting companies managing the infrastructure demands of AI and cloud expansion.
The expansion positions Warsaw as an alternative interconnection point for operators across the Baltics and Nordics, reinforcing Poland’s role as a regional hub as Central and Eastern Europe’s digital infrastructure demands continue to scale.
