Zoho is set to launch a data centre in the UK as soon as Q2 2026, as part of plans to enable customers to host their data entirely within the country.
The global technology provider aims to address growing demand for data sovereignty with the build, particularly among organisations operating in regulated sectors. Zoho said it continues to pride itself on a commitment to delivering secure, locally compliant infrastructure for its UK customer base.
Capacity has confirmed with Zoho the data centre will be based in London and managed by Zoho and Manage Engine software, although the company were unable to comment further.
Zoho’s announcement comes soon after the company opened its new UK office in Milton Keynes, as part of plans to turbocharge regional growth. Plans for the office include continued hiring and investment in regional talent, in addition to greater customer engagement after it reported 43% growth and a tripling of its UK workforce over the past two years alone.
“Our continued growth in the UK reflects both the strength of the market and increasing demand for technology that is locally relevant and globally capable,” said Sachin Agrawal, managing director of Zoho UK. “Over the past two years, we’ve significantly expanded our team, and our new Milton Keynes office provides a strong foundation for further growth and investment in local talent.”
The opening ceremony of the office was attended by James Lancaster, Mayor of Milton Keynes, alongside representatives from the local business and innovation community.
Lancaster commented: “Zoho establishing a presence in Milton Keynes is a significant milestone for the city, reflecting on MK’s ambition and reputation as a thriving hub for innovation and technology.”
“Zoho will be another great contributor to our city, creating new opportunities for skills development, supporting local businesses, and strengthening our ambition for continued growth and economic success here in Milton Keynes.”
Milton Keynes has become a digital and technological hotspot in recent years, as companies have invested in the area to test emerging technology. According to Milton Keynes City Council, more than 2,400 tech companies generate around £3.4 billion (US$4.56 billion) every year.
Likewise, its position between Oxford and Cambridge places it in the middle of the UK government’s Growth Corridor.
More than 500 organisations in the area currently rely on Zoho’s technology, which makes it a very significant region for future growth for the company. Its new office hopes to be a strategic base for customer engagement, partner collaboration and talent development.
Agrawal added: “Alongside this, the upcoming launch of our UK data centre will deepen our technology capabilities, enabling us to support customers with the infrastructure, expertise and local presence they need.
“Milton Keynes is a thriving, forward-looking hub where we can grow our presence and contribute to the local economy, skills development, and wider business community.”
The news also comes as Zoho celebrates 30 years of operation. Continuing to grow in the UK, the company now supports thousands of British businesses with integrated technology solutions spanning finance, sales, marketing, HR and operations.
