  • ZTE has won the ‘Best Mobile/5G Service Innovation’ at the Global Connectivity Awards 2025 in London for its outstanding innovation and implementation in the CelcomDigi dual-network convergence project in Malaysia
  • Through its innovative ‘Intelligent, Integrated, and Connected’ management model applied to the project, ZTE achieved a 15% increase in network coverage, a 25% improvement in download speeds, a 15% growth in network traffic, and over 60% reduction in user complaints

London, UK, November 17, 2025 – ZTE Corporation (0763.HK / 000063.SZ), a global leading provider of integrated information and communication technology solutions, stood out from fierce competition and won the “Best Mobile/5G Service Innovation” award for the first time, thanks to its outstanding innovation and implementation in the CelcomDigi dual-network convergence project in Malaysia, at the 2025 Global Connectivity Awards dinner held in London.

This honour not only demonstrates ZTE’s outstanding capabilities in technological foresight, user experience optimisation, and commercialisation, but also represents the industry’s recognition of its exploration and contributions to 5G and global digital infrastructure.

The CelcomDigi dual-network convergence project in Malaysia involves the modernisation of tens of thousands of sites across four regions: Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Sabah, and Sarawak, and the convergence of networks from six operators. As the largest and most complex network convergence project in the region, it aims to improve network coverage and speed by deeply integrating the network resources of the two operators, thereby providing a superior user experience. Faced with multiple challenges, including ambitious project goals, challenging execution, complex technical solutions, and difficult business organisation integration, ZTE innovatively proposed an “Intelligent, Integrated, and Connected” management model, laying a solid foundation for the project’s successful implementation.

Under the “Intelligence, Integration, and Connectivity” management framework, ZTE has built a smart delivery system based on three intelligent big data platforms: an intelligent site deployment platform, a network optimisation platform, and a multi-dimensional value analysis platform. Combined with eight intelligent efficiency-enhancing tools, including network planning, commissioning, and operations and maintenance, this system enables comprehensive intelligent management of the project delivery process.

According to statistics, after the implementation of the first phase of the project, network coverage increased by 15%, download speeds increased by 25%, network traffic increased by 15%, and user complaints decreased by over 60%.

Furthermore, ZTE actively applied innovative product solutions and AI energy-saving technologies in the project, effectively reducing carbon emissions and demonstrating its commitment to promoting green and sustainable development. ZTE also prioritises the localisation of core positions, collaborating with local universities to cultivate local talent, injecting new vitality into the long-term development of Malaysia’s telecommunications industry.

Looking ahead, ZTE will continue to uphold its innovative spirit, constantly exploring new models and methods for project management, and working hand in hand with global partners to jointly promote the advancement and development of communications technology and contribute to building more efficient, intelligent, and sustainable communications networks.

The Global Connectivity Awards 2025, hosted by Capacity, invites a panel of independent experts from various fields to rigorously evaluate the results based on technological innovation, project implementation, and industry impact, attracting leading companies from around the world to participate. As one of the leading global awards in the digital infrastructure industry, the GCAs, now in their 21st year, recognise innovative technologies, outstanding projects, and exceptional teams across the industry.
